Mumbai: Maharashtra has achieved the highest COVID-19 vaccination coverage in India, with over 85% of its eligible population fully vaccinated. The state government's aggressive vaccination drive has been praised nationwide.
Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray announced that Maharashtra has administered over 10 crore vaccine doses, covering both urban and rural areas effectively. The state's success is attributed to efficient planning, adequate infrastructure, and community participation.
Health Minister Rajesh Tope stated that "Our vaccination centers worked round the clock to ensure no one was left behind. The cooperation from citizens was remarkable."
The achievement comes as India aims to vaccinate its entire adult population by the end of 2024, with Maharashtra leading the way in this national effort.
